Goals

1. To help ensure that every general music educator is well acquainted with widely used practices for music teaching and learning.

2. To promote collaboration in the schools between experienced K-12 general music teachers and university methods teachers toward implementation of active music-making approaches.

3. To provide a collaborative forum to share philosophy and practice from widely recognized active music-making approaches.

4. To provide resources that will enhance understanding and practice of active music-making approaches.

5. To disseminate ideas about implementing active music-making approaches in teacher preparation through presentations and publications.
